Progress and Thoughts on the Process

I finally made some progress on the site tonight, and I’ve been thinking about how I want to do a few things:

• Differentiate Voice 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 (or decide if this is even appropriate)
• Highlight the companies that are part of this emerging trend toward voice as a web service
• Highlight great blogs about the industry and thought leaders who might be able to see into its future
• Provide a meaningful history of voice communications (I have a TON to learn here myself)

So far I’ve been digging through Wikipedia articles, the telephony world is chronicled in incredible detail.  Someday someone might look back at the history of the internet this way, since the telephony was such a monumental achievement for its time and there was SO MUCH money tied up in it (and still is) I can see why there are such skilled historians.  I’d really appreciate any links to resources you find valuable.

One thing I really want to do is graph a timeline of innovation in voice communications, and see how various innovation trends overlapped.
