What’s This All About?

Wow, almost a month since I’ve worked on this website – time to kick it into high gear.  Things have been exciting over at Twilio with the launch of conferencing, celebrating the 1 year birthday of the API, and watching as customers continue to launch new applications.  I’ve been talking with people about communications, and about who is innovating in unexpected ways that would integrate well with voice.  I’ve also had a chance to meet with some pretty visionary folks about what this site could become, and I’m excited about creating an event calendar, complete directory of companies, and featuring original content and syndicated blog posts from thought leaders in the space.

One piece of feedback I’ve gotten several times is not to let it get boring or overrun by the usual suspects.  While there are a lot of veterans to the voice industry, it is innovation and market making that I’m going to focus on – not deep technological skills, experience, and knowledge.  There is a place for that – but what I’m interested in is what is driving the industry forward, not necessarily the various rabbit holes it would be all to easy to dive into.  While I’m going to continue compiling a timeline of important events in the telecommunications world, history is not going to the focus.  Instead, I’m choosing to focus Voice 3.0 dot com on the future.

Look for content updates to the site in the late evening and wee morning hours today/tomorrow and drop me comments if you have thoughts about how to make it better.
